In reply to <a href="http://www.skegness-attractions.co.uk/skegness-seas-festival.html/comment-page-1#comment-101">David Law</a>.

After a little research online I found a review of the Skegness Suitcases performance and it started in the Skegness Hildred Shopping Center. Presumably it started in the shopping center, exited and crossed the road to finish at Flirts (not exactly a big route).

Now how hard would it have been to include this information in the SEAS Festival Program?

Had we known this, we'd have not missed the performance on Saturday.

My wife, Marie, wrote the Skegness SEAS Festival review above.

We live in Skegness and though arts is not my thing it is something my wife and youngest son (13 years old) enjoy (both artists).

I have a disability (had a couple of discs fused in my back this year) and so time spent on my feet is limited which means we plan outings down to the minute (almost).

We wanted to see the SEAS Suitcases performance that was advertised at 4pm on Saturday between Lumley Road and Tower Gardens Skegness.

That's all the information we had, no specific starting point or end point: for example (and anyone else confused what is going on don't take this as the actual route, we still don't know what it was) starting outside Argos, finishing at the bandstand on Tower Gardens, no, nothing helpful like this.

My wife and youngest son setout much earlier than I did to Tower Gardens assuming it would end on the actual park after going around the park for a reasonable period of time (would have made a lot of sense to do this).

I turned up at the park about 4:40pm hoping to catch the end of the Suitcase performance with my wife and son and it had not gone past yet!

There was no obvious crowd developing at Tower Gardens to see the SEAS Suitcase performance, so we went over to the tourist information center (now in the Embassy Theater) and asked where the SEAS Suitcases performance was?

I was told it will be hitting Tower Gardens anytime now and we should be able to see it from the Tower Gardens steps: on the park there are a large set of steps near the main entrance across from the Embassy Theater.

We went back to the park, waited 10 more minutes and gave up and had a walk along the beach instead.

On the way home (30+ minutes later) we went back through the park and could hear what turned out to be the Suitcases performance, so headed towards the noise which was in the alley next to Flirts (strip club).

By the time we got there (took less than a minute to walk) it was over! So the end of the Suitcases performance was in a small alleyway with vans blocking some of the view!

Yes, despite being advertised as an hour plus long performance mentioning Tower Gardens the SEAS Festival Suitcases performance didn't actually enter Tower Gardens!!!!

We completely missed it, Marie was so disappointed she didn't take any photos for this site and her photography site: http://www.fotoartglamour.com/ and went home complaining at poor organisation of another Skegness event.

So once a gain very, very poor planning and organisation on the part of a Skegness event ruined it. We had the same problem with the SO Festival, with advertised events not actually happening when advertised and other events we'd have liked to see not advertised at all!

I would also like to know where all the "dancing in the street" is? According to a Skegness councilor (old woman) on BBC Look North the other night, we'd be having a great party atmosphere with theater and dancing in the Skegness streets.

As a Skegness resident I have not noticed a significant increase in visitors this week, I feel sorry for any holiday makers who decided to visit Skegness just for the SEAS Festival, great idea but once again poorly organised :(
