Skegness Embassy Theatre

I have never been to see an opera before, HMS Pinafore by Opera Della Luna was my first.

I found HMS Pinafore to be an OK opera, but not great. It wasn’t so terrible I wanted to scratch out my eyes and plug up my ears with them, but it also wasn’t an opera that set my heart racing and left me a total lover of opera for the rest of my life.

Gilbert and Sullivan’s HMS Pinafore is a comedy opera and although there was a little giggle here or there the rest of the performance was lacking any spark

Maybe it’s the age of this opera which has been in circulation since the late 18 hundreds or the actual performance by Opera Della Luna Company, felt like both the age and the opera company had limitations that made this productions lacking.

The Embassy Theatre could be expanded by using an upstairs space that is not used. There has apparently been a disused space in the Theatre since renovations took place in the Embassy 11 years ago!

The Council are looking into ways to improve the Embassy Theatre for the public in Skegness and this extra space could been used to do this.

The council are examining ways to make the most of the Embassy Theatre.

I got this information from a short local news story, there was no mention of what exactly the thoughts are about improving the Skegness Embassy Theatre?

This looks to be good for the Embassy one of the best attractions in Skegness and a welcomed piece of foresight from the council. Only a years or two ago there was talk of the Embassy not being viable for the council and fears of it closing especially since the credit crunch put the Embassy’s future on rocky ground!

The Bon Jovi Experience was fantastic, the Embassy theatre was a buzz with the audience having a really good time, making The Bon Jovi Experience one of the best shows I’ve ever seen!

My husband is a huge Bon Jovi fan and this was right up his street, we were all on our feet the whole night dancing and shouting, it was tremendous fun.

Tony the lead singer was fantastic, every move he made and every note he sang was like watching Jon Bon Jovi himself, we were not disappointed one bit. His voice wasn’t exactly like Jon Bon Jovi, but it was extremely close. I have to say though when I heard Jon Bon Jovi sing live on one of my hubby’s CDs for the first time the man himself didn’t sound like Bon Jovi to me My hubby kept asking who do you think it is singing “I know it’s a Bon Jovi song,” I said “but I don’t have a clue who’s singing”

A LOT of FUN! WHO’S BAD had a great concert atmosphere. I’m not a big Michael Jackson fan, but I loved WHO’S BAD.

The whole crowd of over a thousand at the Embassy of all ages was vocal and animated from the get go. Lots of the audience were stood up and singing along to the lyrics, I joined in singing all the lyrics wrong , but I didn’t care I never do, I’m rubbish at remembering lyrics.

There was a great feeling in the Embassy Theatre, normally the audience at the Embassy can be a little hard to liven up with so many in the crowd unwilling to let their hair down and have fun. The cast of WHO’S BAD had no such problems getting the audience out of their seats and to their feet almost from the start, joining in with a lively and entertaining show.

We’ll be going to see the Bat The Symphony in June at the Embassy Theatre Skegness.

We’ll be going to see the Wild Roses Snow White on Ice Show in June at the Embassy Theatre Skegness. We’ve seen several ice shows by this Russian production and they are stunning. They will almost certainly be another hit with my family.

The Embassy Theatre was almost full with few seats left, well over 1,000 people in the audience to watch the first nights performance of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s colourful family musical Joseph and his Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat.

Joseph and his Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat certainly was colourful and lively, I enjoyed the songs more than my Hubby who said the songs were “to Disney for his taste”. My husband thought Joseph was going to be a biblical retelling of Joseph and was a little confused when Josephs brothers did a cowboy number

I did explain what Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Joseph was about to my husband, I even went as far as to look up the history of the show before buying the tickets, but he never listens to me, I think men just hear white noise when there wives speak

This is a list of shows we will be seeing at the Skegness Embassy Theatre in 2010 during the Spring and Summer period. This is NOT a complete list of Embassy Theatre shows by any means (can’t afford to see them all!), it’s only the shows we will see or have seen (will be updated with ratings through the year).

I can see it’s going to be a fun year for my family and I at the Embassy Theatre.

This will be the first time since 2007 when we started going to the Embassy Theatre that there is a full program of monthly events for us to see. The Embassy Theatre have done well to expand the shows on offer in 2010 compared to previous years there’s something for every generation.

We went to see Vampires Rock Christmas Show on the 4th of December 2009 at the Embassy Theatre in Skegness.

Vampires Rock Christmas Show 2009 Review

WOW WHAT A SHOW! Vampires Rock is two and a half hours of 100% pure adrenalin pumping fun! Steve Steinmens fantastic Vampire Rock Show returned to the Embassy Theatre in Skegness with a new look to the show filled with new songs and a new character in the form of Baron Von Rockulars slave Boswell. Boswell has taken over from the previous slaves role Stringfellow, I sat and waited in anticipation could he be as good as StringFellow in the comedy relief?

2010 is looking to be a great year for the Embassy Theatre in Skegness with shows that will WOW crowds of all ages.

The Embassy is well worth a visit in 2010 with top shows like Andrew Lloyd Webber’s: Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dream Coat starring Craig Chalmers, from the hit BBC show Any Dream Will Do, performs in this family musical, Joseph will be performing in February 2010.

A Michael Jackson Tribute band all the way from the USA will be performing at the Embassy in February 2010 and for adults who enjoy a good laugh with a naughty sense of humour Julian Clary will be sweeping into town in the same month.
